Do the winter doldrums have you feeling uninspired?
As creative types, we are adept at finding inspiration in curious places. What we read for pleasure can shape a client's compelling key message. What we see in a painting can trigger a metaphor that clarifies a product feature. And what we hear on our iPods ... well that just keeps us pumped up to make the next deadline.
If you want to feel more inspired, seek novel experiences. Fill your senses with exciting influences. Give yourself permission to take risks outside your comfort zone. You'll be surprised at the fresh way you see your work and your world.

Best Books Lists of 2010
Books inspire us to travel, learn, grow and be more creative. A good book can make you want to become a better person, parent, friend or leader. What good books did you read last year? Is there an App for That?
The American Dialect Society voted "app" its 2010 word of the year. To be considered, a word or phrase does not have to be brand-new, but newly prominent or notable in the past year. The chair of the New Words Committee said, "One of the most convincing arguments from the voting floor was from a woman who said that even her grandmother had heard of it." Sibling organization the American Name Society voted "Eyafjalljökul" as Name of the Year for 2010. It's the name of the Icelandic volcano that spewed enough ash this year to severely disrupt flights across Europe.
