The most precious gift we can offer others is our
presence. When mindfulness embraces those we
love, they will bloom like flowers.

What inspires you? What helps you get past your
blank-screen fears and tap into fresh ideas? The High
Pointers rely on creativity triggers such as taking a
brisk walk, reading a new book, visiting a favorite blog
(no ... not People.com!), eating really dark chocolate,
drinking more caffeine – a lot more –
and
meditation. We also recommend any of the
rejuvenating distractions featured in this issue.
May you give bloom to great thoughts.

Library Thing
As the saying goes, there's no thief like a bad book.
And don't we all know it. When you're choosing your
next great read, check out these Web sites first to
ensure you don't get ripped off. Library Thing
provides recommendations on what to read next
based what you already like. Not sure what you like but
know what you definitely don't like? Then visit Library
Thing's UnSuggester. It takes the opposite
approach, providing suggestions for books to avoid
based on what you've disliked in the past. Happy
reading!

What Mom Really Wants for
Mother's
Day
While Mom may not be interested in the latest version
of Halo or World of Warcraft, according to
a recent study, 76% of casual video game players are

WORDWISE |

Googlewhacking
You know we love a good word or two around here at
High Point – and we're not above killing some
time when faced with the occasional bout of blank
page syndrome. While we're not the first to crack the
news about the phenomenon known as
Googlewhacking, we are among those who are
amused by this little diversion. Try searching for a
combination of two words (with no quotation marks)
that turns up exactly ONE Google hit. Here are a few
good ones that have been submitted to the
blogosphere extolling the challenges of this worthy
time thief.
- ambidextrous scallywags
- panfish interrogation
- insolvent pachyderms
And Maiya's own latest: equanimious
phosphorus.
Learn more about it at
www.googlewhack.com – and join the fun
by trying your hand at becoming a whack hack. If you
come up with one, we'd love to hear it – e-mail
us at
info@highpointcreative.com. All original
submissions will be entered into a drawing for a High
Point goodie bag. (Congrats to Terri Aberg at Zimmer
Madich, our last winner.)

HIGH POINT HIGHLIGHTS |

Medtronic
High Point Creative recently had the opportunity to help
our clients at Medtronic promote their Tame the
Pain Web site, a site that provides pain relief
information and support to potential patients.
Medtronic established a Google AdWords campaign
and several landing pages to drive traffic to the site. In
addition to the creative content for the ads and the
landing pages, we provided title tags and meta
description tags for each landing page.
Because more than half of all Web site visits originate
with a search engine, High Point Creative provides
basic search engine optimization services, as well as
search engine copywriting – smart compelling
copy designed to appeal to your readers and to
the search engines.
Past Projects Still Blooming
As an English major at the University of Minnesota,
Christina Nguyen helped to create and support Voices From the
Gaps, a Web site designed to preserve and
extend knowledge of writing and art by women of color.
Fast forward to the present and she's proud to see
that the site not only continues to exist, it has grown
and flourished. In fact, on April 26, 2007, the University
is celebrating the project's
10th anniversary.
