When did Halloween become such a big deal? This year alone, scary celebrating will account for a record $4.96 billion – up 51% from last year – according to the National Retail Federation. As you’re reaching for “just one more” handful of that devilishly tasty candy corn/salted peanuts combo, consider this: Your customers and prospects likely have Halloween on their minds. How can you translate their fascination with Fright Night into something sweet for you?

And now for a little fun ... Halloween has become one of the top three party nights of the year. Correctly guess the other two nights and you may win a High Point messenger bag full of goodies. Send your guess to info@highpointcreative.com by October 31. We'll draw one winner from the correct answers.

TRY THIS

Organizing Memories
If you have a digital camera, you know that it can be challenging to manage the many photos that accumulate. Kodak Gallery offers photo books, a convenient way to convert your digital photos to albums with just a few clicks. Visit www.KodakGallery.com and click on "Shop" then "Photo Books." After uploading your photos, choose your page layout, add captions and Kodak Gallery will bind the pages into a book that confirms for all who read it that pictures truly are worth a thousand words.

HOT POINT

Wired for Health Care
American adults are turning to the Internet for health care information more than ever. According to a recent Harris poll, 80% of online adults will search the Internet for health information during 2006.

WORDWISE

Be Your Own Publisher
They say everyone has a book inside them, just waiting to get out. Whether yours is a mystery, a manual or your personal poetry collection, now there’s an easy way to publish your masterpiece that doesn’t involve scores of rejection letters or an expensive agent. Print-on-demand publishing is a new method of book publishing that uses digital technology to allow authors to publish their own books – often one copy at a time. Players like AuthorHouse.com, iUniverse.com, Xlibris.com, CafePress.com, uPublish.com and Lulu.com can help authors get their work out there quickly, easily and profitably, without going through traditional publishing channels.

High Point’s Maiya Willits is putting print-on-demand publishing to the test in her new side business venture (Mississippi Editions) that markets customized school memory journals for elementary students.

HIGH POINT HIGHLIGHTS

Medtronic
Medtronic wanted to help spine doctors talk with their patients about neurostimulation as an option for relief from chronic back pain. High Point Creative helped develop a consultation guide that introduces Medtronic's device solutions and provides a way for the patient to "Explain their Pain." The consultation guide was very well received and will be versioned to apply to Medtronic's range of therapies for chronic back pain.

GE Money
When GE Money wanted to create individual Web pages for each of its sales finance markets, High Point Creative provided the copy to build out the site. Along with copy, we also determined which keywords should appear in the text to help increase the site's search engine ranking.
