Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.

There are two kinds of light – the glow that illuminates and the glare that obscures.
James Thurber

Firelight will not let you read fine stories but it's warm and you won't see the dust on the floor.

They’re back – rows of sunscreen on Target’s endcaps. One minute the shelves are stocked with cold medicine and facial tissue. The next, it’s all about preventing sunburn. This telling sign of the season reminds us that the days really are getting lighter. Soon we’ll be thinking twice about getting in the car before it’s cooled down – instead of wishing we’d have let it heat up longer!

Although many of us have thought it recently, one person has been officially quoted as saying: “Sunshine is my quest.” Tell us the person’s name and you may win a High Point messenger bag full of “de-light-ful” goodies. Send your guess to info@highpointcreative.com by March 1. We'll draw one winner from the correct answers.

TRY THIS

Junk Squad
What do the computer you bought 15 years ago, the radiator propped in the corner of the garage, and the life-size Precious Moments® figure you inherited from Aunt Tilly have in common? It’s junk, and it needs to go. Fortunately, there’s the Junk Squad, a company operating in the Twin Cities and Milwaukee that specializes in environmentally friendly disposal. Some goes to the landfill, some to the scrap yard, some to the Salvation Army or other community organizations. The Junk Squad collects your clutter from wherever it lives – the basement, garage, attic, yard – and charges you based on volume, location and type of junk. Mention this article and receive $25 off a load of $150 or more.

HOT POINT

Daylight Savings Time Springs Ahead
Spring ahead in April, Fall back in October, right? Not this year. For the first time since observance began in 1966, Daylights Savings Time has been extended one month. This year, we’ll be springing ahead in March and falling back in November. Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 11. Don’t forget to set your clocks! And you also might want to make sure your computer and other gadgets are ready.

WORDWISE

What's in a Word?
Mark Twain, arguably one of the most important writers in modern history, gave us his enlightened perspective on that when he said, “The difference between the almost-right word and the right word is really a large matter – it’s the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.” Of course we humble writers at High Point Creative are constantly striving for even a single moment of brilliance equal to Mark Twain, but it gives us great pleasure – as well as some occasional late nights – to live in a world where every word really does matter.

HIGH POINT HIGHLIGHTS

Deluxe Financial Services
After successfully launching the Welcome Home® Tool Kit more than a year ago, Deluxe Financial Services wanted to refresh the materials that make up this proven model for enhancing the customer experience. High Point Creative partnered with Lecy Design to create fresh, engaging copy and a clean look that followed new branding standards. A sample was presented at the Deluxe Sales Meeting in January and was met with rave reviews.

RFP Support and Beyond
When you’re focused on a critical Request for Proposal (RFP), it’s easy to get lost in the details. High Point is there to help you step back and execute ideas and tactics to support your larger strategy. For example, we recently helped a client create a presentation that followed a large, detailed RFP. Working with a Hawaiian theme, we created PowerPoint graphics, lunch invitations, branded note pads, thank you cards, signage and presentation boards. The outcome? An experience beyond your average presentation meeting. How can we help you expand your vision?
