Focus On Your Own Economy and Fear Not ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not to mention in Ecclesiastes 1:9 the Bible
says, "That which has been is that which will
be, and that which has been done, is that
which will be done. So there is nothing new
under the sun." [NAFB] So right there in
Ecclesiastes, God, through Solomon, is
telling us there's nothing new under the sun.
So whether we have inflation, deflation, a
currency collapse, or a government being
overthrown, the solutions are laid out in
Scripture. We need to be living below our
means, getting out of debt, giving cheerfully
to the Lord's work, paying our taxes, saving
money, and the money that we are saving
needs to be diversified seven or eight ways.
If you're doing those things and I'm doing
those things, then there's nothing else that
we need to be concerned with because we
are following the direction of our Lord and
savior Jesus Christ. We're doing what He
asks us to do. So to quote a song by Keith
Green called "He'll Take Care of the Rest,"
the line in the song says "just keep doing
your best, and praying its best, and He'll take
care of the rest." Fear has no place in our
life. There is no better time for people around
you to see that you are different. When they
start talking about their money and you can
say, "I'm not worried about it. I have no fear
about that. I am not concerned." Then they
can ask you, "Why are you not concerned?
Why don't you care? Why don't you want to
talk about this?" Then you have your golden
opportunity to share the gospel message of
Jesus Christ or if it is a Christian who is
having concern and fear and worry and
anxiety, then at that moment you have a
great opportunity with your Christian brothers
to help make them disciples of Jesus Christ.
And that's what we've been called to do, is
constantly make disciples of each other.
I hope that you will be thinking about if these thoughts apply to you. Remember that these are questions to ask ourselves if we feel fear. Question number one: What are you afraid of? Question number two: Why? Question number three: What is the worst thing that can happen to you? Question number four: What can we do to prepare for economic downturn? Hint: the answer's already in this newsletter and in the Bible. Question number five: What do you think God's perspective is on this? Question number six: What do I need to learn from this situation? Question number seven may be the most important question of all: Are you spending time in God's Word dealing with the fear that you are having? Question number eight: Is there anything else you can do to better follow God's financial principals for your life?

Health ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the easy things that we do to improve
health in our family is simply by the type of
deodorant that we use. For seven or eight
years now, we have used deodorant that is
aluminum free. For the reasons why we
want to avoid antiperspirants and some other
types of deodorants, here's a quote from the
book The Hallelujah Diet by George
Malkmus. "Be careful with all
antiperspirants and some deodorants, as
they block the body's function to sweat. Your
underarms are designed to sweat for a
reason, and if you block these outlets of toxic
elimination, you beg for trouble. Your armpits
are the abode of your lymphatic glands, so
preventing this area from sweating forces
toxins back into your system. Further, most
antiperspirants contain aluminum which
studies have linked to Alzheimer's disease.
You will need far less protection or masking
from odor when your sweat no longer
contains the backlog of toxins that cultivate
odor-causing bacteria."
Interesting side note, since I went back and reviewed this, I learned that my family probably doesn't need to be using antiperspirants. We've been using a baking soda type deodorant called LeStick. Unfortunately, it too acts as an antiperspirant. So now I learned that we need an aluminum-free deodorant that does not have any antiperspirant activity involved in it as well. Upon learning this through continuing education, perhaps my health will improve for today and years down the road. Maybe it'll help me to get one less cold per year by allowing those toxins and bacteria to freely leave my body. Who knows? Only God does. A friend of my Dad's from college died this year (2008) from Alzheimer's. One thing the medical doctor told his family was that it would be a good idea for him to stop using deodorants with aluminum in them. My Dad even uses aluminum free deodorant but my mother doesn't. I hope she doesn't have to lose a friend to make the change. What about you?
