[You are joining in the middle of a mock interview on a fictional program called "Money We Will Serve" with host Dollar Crazed and guest, Thomas Cloud, Jr. and now we join the interview already in progress.]

 July 2008 Headshot DOLLAR CRAZED: So, Mr. Cloud, you've been asked on our program today titled "Money We Will Serve" because you seem to be so confident during this recession in our country. Why?
TOMMY CLOUD: Well, it's no secret why and it is unusual that I even got asked onto a show like this, but to answer your question, I am confident in the Lord. I am not confident in the economy. I am confident in the Lord and His promises and therefore there is no reason not to be confident.

DOLLAR CRAZED: What are your thoughts on the market?
TOMMY CLOUD: Which market?

DOLLAR CRAZED: Which market? The U.S. stock market. [Dollar looks over at the program director and rolls his eyes.]
TOMMY CLOUD: The U.S. stock market is one asset class that can or cannot be used by people to grow the money that God has given them. It is simply one of many asset classes out there that can be used to grow God's money. I would say it's a good diversifier.

DOLLAR CRAZED: What would you recommend people do?
TOMMY CLOUD: It depends on who we are talking to. If it is someone that doesn't have a personal relationship with the Lord, I would recommend that they first start a relationship with the Lord so that they can begin to take Jesus Christ's yoke upon them. If it is a Christian (someone who is genuinely a Christian, someone who when they stand before the Lord He is not going to say, "depart from me I never knew you," and that's really very few people because the road is narrow); however, if we are talking about a true Christian, what I would recommend that they do is to follow the financial principles that God lays out in His Word, the Holy Bible.


Does It Always Have to Come Back to Jesus?

 DOLLAR CRAZED: Mr. Cloud, does it always have to come back to Jesus for you? We're trying to talk about money on this show "Money We Will Serve" and you keep bringing up the Bible and Jesus. We asked you onto this show to try to get a feel for what you are thinking and where you get this confidence. Is that all you have to offer us is God?
TOMMY CLOUD: Well, that's an interesting question. I've never thought of God as being simple or, "all that we have to offer is God." God is all that anyone ever needs. Jesus Christ is the most important thing. So to ask me a question like, "is God all I have to offer?" there is nothing more to offer than God. There is nothing more powerful. There is nothing more loving. There is nothing more than the God of the Bible and Jesus Christ, His Son and His Holy Spirit. In handling His money, we have to refer to the Bible to understand what He wants us to. So I am happy to talk about the Biblical principles of finance if that is something that may be more palatable for you.

It's All About Jesus:
Colossians 1:15-17 - He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
