We are planning programs for Monday afternoon, February 20 and Wednesday morning, February 22 as well as the programs generally held on the day of the Dinner. More details will be coming soon. Silent Auction donations are being accepted now.
Texas Travel Fair will be held in Waco this year in conjunction with TxDOT's Travel Counselors Conference on April 18-19. Sponsorship opportunities, including the Bed Down gift, are available.
Travel & Tourism College is moving to Texas Woman's University in Denton this year and will be Monday-Friday, June 18-22. The schedule is still being planned for these days and will differ slightly from the two previous years to accommodate starting on Monday rather than Sunday.
Texas Travel Summit will be held at the lovely Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, September 23-26. We have a great room rate of $155/night. Planning has already begun! We expect this to be one of the best conferences yet. Registration and more information will be available after the first of the year.
Public Policy Forum will be held in 2012 in advance of the 2013 Texas Legislative Session. The date has not yet been set, but will likely be held in early December 2012.

The Power of $20
This past Legislative Session we proved that Travel Matters to Texas. TTIA was exceptionally successful in our advocacy efforts on behalf of our members.
If we are to sustain this level of success, we need everyone's active and committed involvement in TTIA's advocacy efforts and support of the HotelPAC.
- The HotelPAC supports candidates who support the travel industry on critical issues such as full funding for tourism promotion and the 4th Monday in August school start date law.
- The HotelPAC gives the industry a stronger voice in overall policy development.
- The HotelPAC extends YOUR voice beyond your local legislator and to the legislature as a whole.
If WE don't support the candidates who support the travel industry, who will? And what policies might they influence?
One of the most important ways you can help grow the power of our advocacy efforts is to make a personal contribution to the Texas HotelPAC. Please note, your TTIA dues cannot go toward the HotelPAC. These must be personal contributions. We are asking you to support the industry by making a personal contribution of at least $20 to the HotelPAC. If one employee from every TTIA member contributes $20 to the HotelPAC in the next month, we will raise almost $16,000 between now and the end of the year. |
