Doris Howdeshell Announces Retirement

Late last week, Doris Howdeshell announced her retirement from the Texas Dept. of Transportation's Travel Information Services Division effective at the end of April.  In fact, Doris' last day will be the last day of Travel Fair in Arlington.

Doris has been with TxDOT for 32 years!  During that tenure, she has been responsible for the world-famous anti-litter campaign "Don't Mess with Texas" while overseeing 12 Texas Travel Information Centers and the state's travel literature, including Texas Highways magazine.

In 2006, Doris received the Tall in Texas Award from TTIA for her outstanding contributions to the state's tourism industry.

Doris, we wish you a wonderful retirement.

You deserve only the best!
