| New Weddings - Karen and Jon |

"... We have just returned back from our
fantastic trip away and are feeling
completely depressed the whole thing is over.
Everyone has been looking at the piccis and
saying how fantastic it all looked.
We both couldn't have wished for a more
beautiful day and setting. The villa
completely exceeded our expectations..".
Karen and Jon were married in San Gimignano,
and returned to a quiet secluded villa for
ther intimate event. As families and freinds
were coming from around the globe, and the
bride and groom themselves were travelling
from the Middle East, Italy was a central
location. As well as the advantages of good
weather, great food, wonderful views....
The style of the reception was relaxed yet
creative - close attention to table
decorations, colors and flower styles were
required, and of course, on the wedding day,
the bride and groom had simply to enjoy all
they had put together.

Dear Italyweddings
We hope you are well after a hectic wedding
season. A belated e-mail to say a huge thank
you for arranging our perfect wedding day.
Everyone who joined us in Italy said it was
the best wedding they have ever been to - we
are already being asked for your details! The
flowers were stunning, the food and wine
delicious, the location spectacular and not
even the thunderstorms could spoil a day that
was truly everything we could have hoped for
- a fairytale wedding!
Thank you again for everything, your
organisation and calming presence on the day
eased all of our stresses and is something we
will never forget.
Take care and best wishes to Marisa (a
fantastic florist)

| Old weddings - Rachel and Gavin |
 |
For your pleasure and enlightenment we
continue our series of weddings from the past
years...
Rachel and Gavin held both a civil
wedding in the town hall of San Gimignano,
and a symbolic blessing at the villa. The
civil wedding fulfilled their legal
requirements, but the ceremony was intimate
and meaningful. The symbolic, non religious
blessing was a private and personal sharing
of vows and commitments before family and
friends. This is always a beautiful and
emotional event.
One of the highlights of this event was the
wedding cake. Italyweddings arranged as a
surprise - actually for the bride and groom
in this case, as well as for the wedding
guests - a special marquee setting in a
hidden part of the villa gardens, with
hanging lanterns, tea candles and citronella
lamps, under a silk canopy.

| Old weddings - Sara and Ben |
 |
Sara and Ben were married in the
Cortona countryside at the end of summer.
They had a Jewish wedding in the gardens of a
private villa, with aperitifs to follow
around the pool, and the banquet and dancing
under a large marquee into the night.
The couple wished that the event was elegant,
the ceremony formal and meaningful,
respecting the family traditions, while
meeting the couples own beliefs and style.
Sara and Ben also wanted the wedding to match
their creative background, together with
Italywedding's staff, we worked together on
floral design, timing, photography and music,
to get the exact feel the couple wanted,
while making the whole event relaxed and
charming for the guests, as well as the
wedding party.

| What's On: Puccini Opera Festival |
 |
Puccini Opera Festival
Torre del Lago Puccini
This is the town where the famous composer
Giacomo Puccini lived and composed some of
his most remarkable works. Born in Lucca in
1858 when the city was still under the
control of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, he was
considered a musical genius at the young age
of 17 for his complex orchestral works that
could not even be performed by the Lucca
Orchestra because it was not large enough. He
then went on to study and compose opera for
Milan's Teatro all Scala and Turin's Teatro
Regio before composing many world-famous
operas such as Madame Butterfly and Turandot.
Every year since 1955 the town has celebrated
this great man by offering performances of
both his most famous and his most obscure
pieces. As the event has matured it now
features some of the greatest performing
talent available. Performances are held in
the Open Air Theater and events vary from
year to year

Featured event Angelina and Marco |
|
|

Marco and Angelina were married with a civil
ceremony just outside of Florence in July.
They had close to 100 guests staying in
Florence itself, in a short list of hotels to
cover various needs and budgets. Transport
was arranged for those guests from the city
to the town hall, where an intimate and
meaningful ceremony was arranged, with
readings and variations made by the couple
reflecting their light hearted nature.
Guests were then taken on to a wonderful
villa in the hills overlooking Florence,
where aperitifs on the terrace preceded a
formal seated meal on the lawn.

The couple write:
Dear Ben
A quick note between airports to thank you
for a truly fantastic day. Everyone was
saying how professional and friendly you were.
It was a well oiled machine and I can
honestly say it was 100 percent better than
we had imagined.
The flowers were fabulous - please pass on
our thanks to Marisa who was brilliant as
well.
Thanks again
Marco and Angelina
