The couple write:
Dear Ben,
We cannot thank you enough for organising a wedding
beyond our dreams. The whole week was just
fantastic. The days leading up to the wedding were
so relaxed and our friends and families absolutely
loved spending time by the pool and around the
villa. It was so special having this time together
unlike a normal weddng.
The actual wedding day itself was like a dream. You
took care of every little detail and so we didn't
have to think about the organisational aspects of
things at all. Every detail was just as we wanted
from our beautiful flowers, the music in the town
hall, the table settings, the food and wedding cake
and of course the band who were amazing. It was
lovely also to spend time with our families after
the wedding - we cannot imagine having just one day
of fun - we had a whole week and still wanted more!
Once again, thank you so much for your incredible
hard work, professionalism and your calming
influence during the whole day. We will never forget
our time at the villa with all our friends and
family, it truly was a very special week and an
unforgettable wedding.
Massive thanks once again from ourselves, all our
friends and family. We wish you good luck for the
future and we will be recommending Italyweddings to
EVERYONE so with any luck we may see you again some
time soon!
All our love,
Jen and Richard

| New weddings - Diane and Ethan |
 |
Diane and Ethan were married with a civil wedding in
a small village just a few miles outside of
Florence, with views over the city. After the
ceremony, the guests returned to on of our top villa
for the wedding party. Drinks along the Arno river,
and an intimate, and unforgettable meal into the
night.
The couple write:
Dear Ben,
Ethan and I are having a wonderful time in St Tropez
(who wouldn't?) And can't thank you enough for your
wonderful efficiency and thoroughness in creating a
beautiful and memorable wedding for us. We can't
wait to see the pictures!
Again, many, many thanks,
Diane and Ethan

| New weddings - Anneli and Thomas |
 |
Anneli and Thomas were married in the town hall of
San Gimignano mid September, and returned to
this villa for the wedding reception.
The villa is ideal for a medium sized wedding party:
the villa sleeps 20 guests, but there is space under
the loggia for a party of 40 or more. We arranged
local caterers for a special meal of traditional
Tuscan dishes. A typical menu for this type of meal:
Aperitifs
Grissini bread sticks with prosciutto ham.
Salami: Finocchiona - fennel favoured.
Stuffed tomatoes.
small mozzarella balls with tomato and basil.
smoked salmon salad with julienne of cucumber and
radish.
First courses
Garganelli pasta with porcini mushrooms and saffron.
Ravioli with orange and lemon dressing, with sugared
orange slices.
Second courses
Fillet steak in breadcrust, with red peppers and
baby carrots with herbs and vegetable compote.
Sea-bass with parsley, tomatoes, garlic and white
wine.
Wedding cake
Usually a millefoglie layered cake, of flake pastry,
Chantilly cream and either berry fruit or chocolate
chip, decorated with fruit and foliage.

| What's On: New Year's Eve |
 |
|
New Year's Eve - at midnight there are substantial
public fireworks put on by most communities just
like everywhere else in the world. Plus most
ordinary Italians from the North to the South will
be setting off an abundance of sparklers,
firecrackers, cherry bombs, lady fingers and every
grey market explosive that you can imagine (they are
not hard to come by in Italy even though the law
prohibits their sale). The cities of Rome, Milan,
Bologna, Palermo and Naples put on huge outdoor
events with pop and rock bands that attract
thousands of revelers and are televised on the
national channels. An old custom is to throw your
old things out the window to signify your readiness
to accept the New Year (so keep your eyes skyward!).

New Villas |
|
|
|
Villa 4
This stunning historical family villa, located in
the true heart of the Chianti region, close to both
Greve in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti, is
particularly suited to wedding groups.
The villa hosts 30 guests in the villa and cottage,
generally on a Saturday to Saturday weekly basis,
but per night booking is also considered. There is a
little chapel that can be used for religious or
symbolic blessings at a 200 yard stroll from the
main villa. Please see Leila
and Steve's wedding for a recent example of
religious blessing.
The villa offers many external areas for hosting a
seated meal and aperitif: the pool area, with
breathtaking views across the rolling valleys of
vineyards and ancient woodland, the garden in front
of the villa facade, and the intimate courtyard area
between the villa and outbuildings. The villa also
has a large and attractive internal hall, so
alternatives are possible in the case of less than
perfect weather.
Accommodation at this villa is made up of seven
distinct areas - the villa itself, houses 2 doubles,
one twin and one single, and the outbuildings house
apartments for 2, 4,and 6 guests, for a total of
30-32 people.
Villa 28
The stunning Castello, recently completely restored
to a luxury boutique hotel, is located in the heart
of the Chianti region, just south of Florence. The
XII century hotel is a typical example of a noble
Tuscan country residence.
The hotel has been converted maintaining all the
original aspects, and restoring the noble blazons
and fireplaces. There is no other luxury hotel in
the Tuscan area . The 50 rooms and suites offer all
the services and comforts of the most luxurious
hotels. The Castello restaurant cooks from the
typical Tuscan and Mediterranean tradition, using
the villas own bakery and land produce. For a
wedding meal, the castello offers a level of
elegance and luxury beyond comparison.
The castello is also hope to a spa and beauty
treatment retreat - a haven of contemporary style,
natural wood, clear glass and Italian stone.
Delicate aromas and the use of subtle lighting
create a tranquil ambiance in which to relax and
enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. The
vitality pool and relaxation areas both allow free
flowing transition from the cool indoors to the wide
outdoors. Every treatment has been created to bring
a totally caring experience and the ultimate in
luxury.
The castello is also home to a fully equipped gym,
heated pool and illuminated tennis courts. Castello
services include 24 hour in room service, baby
sitting, laundry service, car rental, airport
transfer, concierge services, pressing services and
so on.
