| New Weddings - Jessica and Michael |
 |
Jessica and Michael were married in the town
hall of San Gimignano, on a sunny day in May 2006.
The civil wedding allows couples to personalize and
modify the ceremony in many ways, to make it a more
intimate and personal experience. The bride may be
given away, readings and music may be added to the
ceremony, rings, and personal vows may be exchanged
during the ceremony.
After photography in the town, the couple and guests
returned to the
villa for aperitifs by the pool, and a formal
seated meal in the main hall.
Using a privately hire villa such as this is ideal
for groups from 20 to 120 - it gives the couple a
base for the week, for events and meals beyond just
the wedding day, and creates a stunning setting for
the wedding event itself. This villa sleeps a party
of 37, but can accommodate a large party for the
wedding, and Italyweddings staff of florists and
caterers will transform the villa for the event, to
make it extra special for the wedding day.

| New weddings - Cassie and Kevin |
 |
Cassie and Kevin were married in the company of
family and close friends in the quiet town of
Cortna, in May.
The couple celebrated a civil wedding in the town
hall of Cortona - perhaps the most stunning building
in the town, an imposing facade overlooking the
town, and with a dramatic stone stairway leading
down into the main town square.
After a trip into the Tuscan countryside for
photographs, the couple joined their party at the
top hotel and villa in the area, for an
unforgettable banquet meal.
Cortona has become more popular over the last two
years, following the book and the movie, "Under the
Tuscan Sun", but the town remains genuine not over
developped, and friendly towards outsiders. The
street remain a mix of traditional local shop and
craftsmen, and new and interesting galleries and
restaurants.
The couple chose one of the deluxe photography
packages - a sample of the work here - one of the
best Italian photographers, specializing in digital,
informal story-telling photography, in color,
particularly suited to an elegant event, with
details and colors to be captured.

| New weddings - Rachelle and Rudy |
 |
Rachelle and Rudy were married with both a civil
wedding in the town hall of Cortona, and a symbolic
blessing ceremony, celebrated at their villa
The town hall of Cortona is one of the most
attractive - the town of Cortona, although more
popular now with the attention that has been brough
by the book and the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" is
still a charming, and quiet town, with genuine local
shops and undiscovered corners and restaurants.
The couple returned in the afternoon to the
villa to hold a blessing ceremony, the text of
which was written by the couple, and full of deep
personal significance.

| What's On: Pistoia Blues, Mid July |
 |
|
Pistoia Blues Festival - Certainly one of the best
musical events in Italy even though popular
attendance and demand has expanded the artist revue
to include many superstars that are far from blues!
It's twinned with the Chicago Blues Festival and
attracts some of the world's greatest stars (past
performers have included B.B. King, David Bowie,
Stevie Winwood, Zucchero, David Crosby, Santana and
Bob Dylan to name a few). There are special trains
from Florence that will transport music lovers into
one of the loveliest of ancient Tuscan cities that
exists!

| Italian sayings about marriage |
 |
Tra moglie e marito ... non mettere il dito.
Don't put a finger between wife and husband.
|
| Italian wedding traditions |
 |
|
It was thought that the wearing of green by the
bride the night before the wedding brought luck and
abundance to the couple.
Particularly in Southern Italy, it was uncommon for
either the groom or the bride to have a "bachelor"
or "bachelorette" party beore the wedding.

The photographers statement:
"...A wedding is one of the most treasured and
special events in a person's life. Many emotional,
meaningful and candid moments occur. These moments
are missed by taking only traditional posed photos.
Reportage wedding photography aims to capture each
moment of your wedding day in a journalistic style,
as it occurs, honestly, spontaneously.
The result
will be your Story Book Wedding Album which consists
of a sequence of those special instances, preserved
for a lifetime. Photographs which are a sensitive
artistic documentation of a unique experience. Your
story. Your day. The day goes by so quickly it seems
to become a blur. How precious it is to open your
Story Book and crystallize your memory. It can even
reveal the moments you missed. One image can tell
many stories.
I have the privilege, as an artist, to record one of
the most important moments of your life. Intimately
paying attention so as to get the real story.
Pictures which reflect the emotion of the day, the
human experience. Where possible, I aim to stand
back and make myself invisible. I will capture all
of the important little details. I realize how much
time and effort a bride spends to make her day
perfect.
It's your day not mine. I am a woman. I
understand the feminine universe and it's
complexities. It is important that you are
comfortable with your photographer. The photographer
needs to understand and respect the moment, not
dictate and pose the protagonists into a false
over-romanticized shoot.
Fly on the wall and catcher
of smiles. Technically sound to catch those moments
before they fly away. Less formal photographs keeps
the wedding flowing and fun. Recording the day as
photojournalist reflects it more honestly. However,
I understand that most people also like to include a
few formal shots. Classic doesn't have to be dull
though!
“I work fast, with precision and fun, ensuring you
have plenty of time to mingle with your guests and
celebrate. I will take as many photographs as I have
opportunity for. A little suggestion here or there,
but I avoid traditional posing. This means you can
relax and trust me. I will take naturally flattering
pictures. We all deserve beautiful photos of
ourselves to show the grandchildren.

After each wedding I spend hours working on each and
every image. Just the way they do in all the
magazines, I touch up my images. Unnoticeably, I
remove that
untimely spot. I subtly suggest the mood of the day.
This gives the images a Fine Art look. I consider
each and every image in your album important. I am
not a wedding photographer. I am an Artist who makes
Story Book Wedding Albums. Each album is unique,
reflecting you and your day. I take
photojournalistic, reportage, natural, flattering,
intimate, sensitive and artistic wedding
photographs. My product is the album. The Story Book
Wedding Album.
