NEW CHAMBER HEALTH CARE COOPERATIVE COMING THIS YEAR |
For many years, the Chamber community has been pushing the state to allow group purchasing cooperatives for employers with fewer than 50 workers, a sector that has long been disadvantaged in the health insurance market.
The Legislature passed such a law in 2010 allowing the formation of up to six cooperatives in the Commonwealth with the capacity to provide discounted plans for the small business community. With the regulations finally worked out, the Massachusetts Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives was recently chosen as one of the cooperatives, and the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce approved by the state as a qualifying Chamber.
As soon as the MACCE plan is rolled out late this spring, we will be providing members with information and assisting with enrollment.
