Dear Ones,
The Back to Basics series this year is a huge hit! I'm having the time of my life exploring the first four chapters of Ernest Holmes' classic The Science of Mind, and those of you listening seem to be enjoying it rather immensely. It feels like a brand new experi- ence on Sunday morning (well, it actually IS a brand new experience!) or, as one of our leaders told me, "It's like falling in love all over again."
What's going on is nothing less than the Principles being proven...the very Principles we're examining all month. For the entire year of 2011, in the midst of continued downturns in attendance and giving, we remained committed to contemplating to the Divine. We continued treating (praying) and visioning to know a higher Truth. We addressed the worldly conditions as best we could while at the same time digging ever deeper into our belief that God Is All There Is (Chapter 1), that it is done as we believe (Chapter 2), and that only as much Good as we can take is ever given to us (Chapter 3). Does this mean our con- cerns are finished? No. Our contributions have yet to rise to the levels we desire. And yet, we also know that we're talking about the effect, the end result of the creative process. It's not physically visible yet, but I remain clear that it MUST appear according to the Law we've been working with. This is what the 4th chapter of The Science of Mind is all about: the HOW of working with God's Law. Our faith and philosophy is focused like a laser on explaining and exploring the HOW TO's of the universe -- how to work successfully with Principle, how to become more of the divinity we are. It is precisely in the applying of the how to's that our lives become the rich and fulfilling experience we desire. The working out of that Principle -- the time and ways in which the result shows up -- is when we often talk about mystery and dark nights of the soul, because we can't see the result showing up yet. It is then that we redouble our spiritual focus on God and Its grace and sufficiency and Its perfect Law. That is where we are right now as a spiritual community and that is what we are celebrating on Sunday mornings: how good God is and how grateful we are to be remembering it together, eagerly anticipating its greater expression in our lives! If you're already coming to services, stay tuned! Or, come see what all the fuss is about...it really is an amazing time to be part of this Center. See you here! In joy,

FROM YOUR CORE COUNCIL
Kelly Sanders

Hi Everyone!
Hasn't the past 10 days just been simply amazing?! You might have noticed a shift is happening - I know I've observed it in the Center and in myself personally. I was in Washington with my parents over Christmas and didn't get to participate in person in the Season of Light services. I did, however, watch them on our Livestream feed (livestream.com/cslglv) and was so impressed with the music and the descriptions of the world traditions. I thought the service really spoke to who and what we are as Religious Scientists.
New Year's weekend was fabulous, starting with the clearing ceremony at 6:30 a.m. - yes, I really was there...a major surprise to all of you who know that mornings are not necessarily some- thing I participate in if I can avoid it! I was able to assist the Center release that which no longer served, and bring in new energy and intentions for this year. Funny, the same thing happened for me personally: I released and I claimed new energy and intents for myself. In part because of the clearing and then the Sunday Meditation and Celebration Services, I was flying all day and had a wonderful time singing and dancing around the house.
The New Year's brunch provided by Rebecca and Larry Montoya was fun and yummy! It was a wonderful kick off for the "Gourmets for God" FUNraiser events. I hope you all are participating in one form or another, as it is a fabulous way to get to know more people in our community and know them at a totally different level then seeing each other at services. A huge THANK YOU to the Montoyas and everyone who assisted them.
All these changes may seem sudden; however, they have actually been cooking for awhile, and the time has come for everything to coming together. When I was appointed to the Core Council in August, I had no idea that our Center would look so different in such a short amount of time. I am forced to remember that things happen in God's time, not my time. This is clearly the Divine Right Time for these changes to occur. I am so excited about these shifts, and the same kinds of shifts I have experi- enced in my own life in the past 10 days. I know that everything is working for our Highest and Best good, individually and collect- ively, and I can't wait to see how we evolve in Expansive Vibration in 2012!
Happy New Year! May it be your best year, so far.
