Dear Ones,
There is a special energy in the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. It's a kind of lull. Maybe it's a sort of energy "hangover," with the excitement and activity of Christmas waning and the world around us (the weather, the Strip, the traffic) "cooling off."
What a beautiful week to take some extra contemplation time. I plan to do that this week, in advance of our Saturday morning "Out with the old...in with the new" cleansing and intention setting ceremony. I invite you to join with me in the days leading up to Saturday, in the quiet of your own space, to reflect on this year: how has it been for you? What are the best things you remember about it? What have been the chal- lenges? Are any of the challenges something you'll take into 2012 with you? What do you want most in 2012, and are you willing to "stay your mind" on that? Reread "Peace Be Unto Thee, Stranger" in this newsletter and allow it to inspire your contempla- tion time. This coming weekend heralds a new era at CSLGLV. We're transforming our Sunday gather- ings in order to serve better the vision and values we hold as a community. If you love or are interested in experiencing group meditation, there will be a 30-minute Meditation Service every Sunday morning at 9:15 in the sanctuary. We invite you to come and "sit with God" together, gently guided by a Practitioner. Then we shift the energy and begin our celebration service at 10:00. This will be more like the morning services you're used to, with the added benefit of everyone being together at one service -- we can get to know each other better! 2012 has emerged in visioning as a year of Expansive Vibration. This shift to our Sunday mornings is just the first manifestation of what will no doubt prove to be a transformational year for us, individually and collectively. I am wishing, er, KNOWING for you a magnificent New Year. Join me in the "quiet lull" of this week, let's gather on Saturday morning at 6:30 to go out with the old and welcome in the new, and then we'll start the year off RIGHT with a Sunday morning spirit-filled experience. Richest blessings to you, always! In love,

 Peace be unto thee, stranger
Enter, and be not afraid I have left the gate open and thou art welcome to my home There is room in my house for all I have swept the hearth and lighted the fire The Room is warm and cheerful, and you will find comfort and rest within The table is laid, and the fruits of Life are spread before thee The wine is here also; it sparkles in the light I have set a chair for you where the sunbeams dance through the shade Sit and rest and refresh your soul Eat of the fruit and drink the wine All, all is yours, and you are welcome

| How Large is Your Oneness?
by Claytee White, Core Council President
When I state that "I am One with the Universal Presence" that created everything out of Itself - mineral, plants and animals - am I really serious or just talking the talk? Am I consciously aware of what this means? Is it real to me? Do I embody this? Do I live it? If I embody this belief, does it go beyond my neighbor- hood? Does it cross the border? Does it go to Iraq, China, Mexico, Arizona, South Africa, the Sudan and Afghanistan Does it go beyond political parties? Does it go beyond race? Does it go beyond gender? Does it go beyond our class structure? Does it include the homeless? If my Oneness is not all encompassing, how do I change it? I suggest journaling, contemplation, studying, practicing the presence and meditation. By doing this, it can change all things in your life for the best possible life...the best possible service...the best possible use of your life directed by God.
