  Nex-Generation Career Fair & Expo 2011
Students from 13 northwest and central Kansas high schools made their way to Hill City for the Nex-Generation Career Fair & Expo on November 9, at the Hill City Jr./Sr. High School. "We are very pleased with the response to this year's event," said Nex-Tech/Rural Telephone Youth Services/Community Development Coordinator Jacque Beckman. "Attendance was more than double that of the 2009 career fair."
The career fair featured a keynote address by Bill Cordes, of Lawrence, Kansas, who outlined his "You Only Get Out What You Put In" principle, with a special emphasis on returning home.

Telvis, Nex-Tech TV's iconic elf, asks the infamous question that identifies us all as humans. "Where did I come from?
The Nex-Tech elves débuted Christmas 2010, starting with imagined names and characteristics that were communicated to their creator, Media Specialist, Chris Norris. Chris began with pagesupon pages of pencil sketches suggesting loose shapes and gestures. Each new drawing tightened the shapes until they took their final form of Telvis, Corda, Bits and Texter.
