On Sunday January 15th 2012 Captain Michael Holtz married his partner of 24 years, Stephen Utley. We wanted to share this touching message Stephen wrote a few days before their wedding;

 "I met Michael Holtz in church in August of 1986 at the College of William and Mary. We've been together since January of 1988----24 beautiful, happy years. We've survived separations of thousands of miles. Mike is soldier, as you know. He has served in the US Army since 1997. I am so proud of us! I feel giddy when I say; we are getting married next weekend. A big hug and kiss goes out to all of our friends and family who have been there for us. We never could have survived those deployments without your love and support. The repeal of DADT made this wedding possible, so a big round of applause to those who realized that serving our country is a matter of courage and nothing else!! We wish we could have you all at our wedding. My Mom's cancer treatments are going well but prevent her from being in large crowds. Next January, we can celebrate one year of marriage and 25 years together with all of y'all."
