Dear Alumni & Friends, 
Maumee Valley begins its 128th amazing year today and we are ready to go! Many of the teachers were in and out of school throughout the month of August preparing for opening day. Last week, our thirty international students spent two days in orientation, learning about the MVCDS experience, and yesterday, Upper School student leaders led an orientation for incoming freshmen and new Upper School students. | Homecoming Blues Fest | |
 Celebrate the MV Blues at Homecoming 2012. Join your classmates, friends, former teachers and current families for a community-wide, blues-themed party on Friday, September 28th. Take part in the weekend reunion and athletic events on campus and around Toledo. This year's Homecoming Weekend features the reunion classes of 1962, 1972 and 1992, but all are welcome to join the festivities. This is a Homecoming Weekend you don't want to miss.

Volunteer Pep Rally
|
You are invited to the "Place-to-Be Volunteer Pep Rally" on September 13th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Join our volunteer coordinators, current parents, alumni, faculty & staff, and other committed community members to discuss the on-going volunteer opportunities at MVCDS. We would love to have insight from alumni, alumni parents and former faculty at this event. Food and childcare will be provided. 1982 & 1983 Reunion Review

Members from the classes of 1982 and 1983 reunited in Toledo this summer. Some of the group met first on campus on Friday, July 20th for a light reception and a tour of the new building. The reunion festivities continued into the weekend with swimming and a picnic lunch at the home of Tim '83 and Areka Foster, followed by dinner at Weezie Stoddard's '82 home in Perrysburg. Alex Bowe DeRosa '82 then hosted brunch for the group on Sunday, July 22.

Smead Award Nominations

One of the Alumni Council's top agenda items at it's opening meeting, scheduled for Friday, September 28th, is the selection of the honoree slate for the 79th Annual Smead Alumni Awards. The Council needs input from the Alumni Association. Please review the Smead Award descriptions, here.
