Basketball Glory
| |
Perhaps you've already heard the hype surrounding this year's boy's basketball team. Maybe you saw news footage or read a blog post. Our team had an amazing season, the best in the school's history. They finished their regular season with a final score of 19-1. The boys went on to win the T.A.A.C. championship and made it to the Sweet 16. They eventually lost to Arlington High School in the division 4 regional semi-finals played at BGSU on March 13. You can read more highlights about the spectacular season on Maumee Valley's website. Congratulations boys, we are so proud!
In other exciting basketball news, Maumee Valley's boy's basketball coach, Jim Robinson, was selected as a finalist for BCSN's "Coach of the Season" because of our team's outstanding performance this season. Read more about Jim Robinson's career and work at Maumee Valley here then cast your ballot for the BSCN's "Coach of the Season" contest here. The voting poll closes on March 29th at 11:59 pm. Only one vote per IP address is accepted.

Art Installation
| |
The Upper School art classes are currently working on a permanent art installation for the new Upper School Parry Commons. This large 3D installation consists of objects from the old Upper School building: door signs, sprinkler heads, locker tags, pencil sharpeners, test tubes, drawers, etc. The art students will also use collage materials such as year book covers, old blue prints and class photographs to add a personal dimension to the piece. This is where you come in. The artists invite you to submit photographic memories from your time spent as a student or faculty member in the old Upper School. If you have photos that you'd like to submit for permanent display, please email jpgs to Leah Whitaker '00.

We're halfway there!
|
We recently completed the annual phone-a-thon with the help of fourteen, very enthusiastic Upper School students. Your generous contributions during the phone-a-thon raised the level of the Weathervane to 10%! Thank you for your support.
This fiscal year, our goal is to raise the level of alumni participation in the annual fund to 20% by June 30, 2012.
As of March 26, 2012, 10% of alumni have made a gift. We're halfway there!
Raise the Weathervane! Any gift, no matter the size, helps the school reach its goal. Give Now!
Track the monthly progress of the Raise the Weathervane alumni participation goal on the website.
