Members of the John Hunt Society, C.A.R. recently spent a day touring the KDS campus and learning about the school and its history. Pictured with society members are Carroll Strickland, senior president, KDS Executive Director Heather Green, and senior leader Betty Vaughan. |
The two interior courtyards in the Jacobs Building have a beautiful new look thanks to the Hunt's Spring Chapter, NSDAR. A bequest left to the chapter by member Geraldine Hyatt funded the renovations which included the addition of sitting areas with benches and planting beds with colorful perennials. KDS Executive Director Heather Green said, "It is our hope the students and teachers will use these areas to read, enjoy the outdoors, and appreciate nature during the school day."

If you have a "Did You Know?" article about KDS School, the Grant community, or the state of Alabama that you would like to share with readers of our monthly newsletter, submit it to Heather Green at hgreen@nehp.net. If you have pictures in a digital format that relate to the article, submit them along with the article. Many of our readers are new to the area and do not know the wonderful, rich history of KDS School and the Town of Grant. I am sure they will be enlightened with something that you know and take for granted that everyone else knows too. |
