Jockeying for Position

This is the last month before the U.S. Presidential election. Whether you are following politics or not, all the forces at play are affecting you. The Uranus square Pluto aspect that is ruling the roost both now and for years to come is making sure we all feel the transformational swirl. This square accounts for the intensity being felt both globally and on the national level with the extreme positioning  going on between opposing factions.

As of October 4, Jupiter will be turning retrograde in Gemini, giving us a chance to consider whether all of our ideas about just about everything are considered enough before being cast to the four winds in a burst of being convinced they are worthy, just because we thought them.

On October 6, Saturn will enter Scorpio and will not leave until fall of 2015. This is quite a different energy from Saturn in Libra. Saturn is all about the viability of structures. In Libra, the concerns were about creating balance and harmony in interactions. Does diplomacy really work, and if so how much, and when, and with what backing? In Scorpio, Saturn is prepared to dive deep into the subconscious undergirding of people and events. It will be much harder to keep hidden agendas in the political realms hidden. The truth will out, and will out with a vengeance, in some cases. More courage is required and more courage is granted when working with this Saturn.

The New Moon is on October 15. The seed being planted here to work with for the next two weeks is still with the focus on diplomacy and trusting possibilities of working things out through co-operating. There is an air of optimism with the New Moon trine Jupiter. There is also a forward looking pleasure being taken from an exact trine between Saturn and Neptune that we can figure out how to marry the ideal with the real if we do things in a measured way. Socially, there is a desire to add aesthetic value (Venus sextile Mercury) and, though sometimes events do not live up to expectations (Venus Square Jupiter), there is still a joy to be had in coming together just for the sake of liking to be together. Our ambitions are lit up with Mars in fiery Sagittarius as it joins in a trine with Uranus making us more determined than ever to court creation of the new and the innovative.

On October 29, close to Samhain is the Full Moon in Taurus. This moon is trine Pluto and opposite Sun conjunct Saturn so right here we know that the energies leading up to election are going to affect our emotional responses deeply (but helpfully . . . it's a trine!) and that with Saturn involved, there is going to be favor shown to the most mature and wise candidate, whether it is candidate for President or candidate for anything else. Jupiter will be opposite Mars in Sagittarius so this could indicate that false confidence could lead to trouble, not a good time to assume anything, and a very good time to aim towards the future with a steady hand and an understanding that good things can take time when the ground to be covered is extensive. 

Social events are apt to be filled with tension and confusion.  Mercury enters Sagittarius so a philosophical take on things (and humor) can give a bigger picture and soothe some of the strong emotional responses that are just about  on every street corner. Keep your focus on what you want to donate to the ones to come on this earth by your current contributions. I strongly suggest you consider putting 'self mastery' on your 'to do' list.
