Red Alert

Red is this season's hottest color. Yes, you'll see all the jewel tones and lots of blue green, but the color turning heads this holiday season is red. You'll be seeing 'red' this winter in fashion.  Call it crimson, scarlet or wine. Or call it cherry, oxblood or merlot. Whatever the name, the impact is the same.

Red warms us and energizes us. It's dramatic and perfect. Fashion this season recommends classic red paired with neutrals. A pop of red is all that's needed to brighten a gray outfit or a gray day. Chinese lacquer red pairs naturally with camel and beige. Deeper reds will balance mustard, another favorite this season. And, of course red knows its best friend in black!

Red Gemstones and Jewelry

Warming up the cooler months is easy to do when adorning this hot pick.  Everything is red; from nail polish to lipstick, shoes to handbags, and coats to scarves.  And, who can forget Dorothy and her ruby slippers! There's a red for everyone and for every style.

So, why not accent an outfit with a red gemstone? Here's a Portuguese style Nigerian Rubellite Tourmaline. Roger bought this rough during one of his trips to Africa.

I love red and I LOVE black! So, naturally I think, how about putting them together in a piece of jewelry I can wear with everything. Spectrum Award-Winning designer Steph Farber came up with this design. His custom designs are appropriately called Farberware! Steph married a 3.30ct. rose-cut Red Zircon custom cut by yours truly Roger Dery with a drusy onyx fashioned by Steve Walters. The custom slide pendant is set in two-tone 14 karat yellow and white gold.
