Tanzania, here we come!

Roger tells me the roads aren't great in Tanzania. He also says we may get lost and there are a few stories I haven't heard! Ahhh, adventure! I'm excited to see the country and the people, the ruggedness and the beauty.

We're starting out in Tanzania at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Then we cross into Kenya to visit some mining operations. We'll make our way through Kenya to Mombasa on the Indian Ocean. There should be plenty opportunities to see wildlife!

Zircon has been the stone that Roger and I have fallen in love with. I always favored the blue zircons for their intense color. Roger preferred them for their scintillation and dispersion. However, it's the rose, orange and red tones that now capture our hearts! These tones aren't seen as often which makes them all the more special!

We're looking for rough...whatever the locals bring us and Roger's brokers have accumulated in anticipation of our arrival. We expect to find garnet in many varieties, iolite, golden beryl, tourmaline, sapphire and a full range of colors in zircon. However,
I think the best motto may be "expect the unexpected".

After all, TIA...this is Africa!
