Honeysuckle is the 2011 Color of the Year!

Greetings!

Honeysuckle has been chosen by Pantone as the 2011 Color of the Year. And, you ask, exactly what color is that? Honeysuckle is the reddish- pink flower that irresistibly draws hummingbirds to nectar. Honeysuckle flowers have an unmistakable color as well as a sweet fragrance.

Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle is the lively melon pink color seen everywhere this year. From clothing to rugs and artwork to shoes, honeysuckle is dominating. We're seeing a wide range of pink (Oops, I should say honeysuckle... but who am I kidding? Pink is what we're all gonna call it when we see it)

this spring - from light, blush tones, to borderline-orange salmon colors and the more vibrant, jeweled 'honeysuckle' shades. Honeysuckle is ruling the runways from Valentino to DKNY. It is predicted to continue into fall paired with deeper earth tones.

Naturally, I wonder, "What gems occur in a honeysuckle color?" Here's a favorite Roger Dery Gem Design just off the dop! Tourmaline occurs in all the shades of red, salmon and pink (ahh, I mean honeysuckle)! This Roger Dery Nigerian Tourmaline hexagon is bright and dynamic. The vibrant pink (oops...honeysuckle) will ward off any of the winter blahs, or blues, still hanging on!

Enjoy the honeysuckle shades this spring!

Regards,

Ginger
