OCA pilot project results show quicker access to treatment and faster diagnoses for LBP patients when using chiropractors in teams with family physicians
Last year the OCA embarked on a consulting chiropractic demonstration pilot project to address current barriers to the provision of high quality and appropriate care for low back pain (LBP) in primary care. With funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and advisory support from the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), the OCA developed, implemented and evaluated a consulting chiropractor role in primary care for LBP. Changes to PMP Renewal Date & Fees for 2012-13 This year's renewal payment date for PMP users has been changed. Users will now be required to renew their PMP program in October 2012. Bill 168 Compliance in Health Care Sector Bill 168 is an Ontario legislation that was passed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in 2010. It requires all providers of Health Care services in Ontario, including Chiropractors, to address and eliminate violence and harassment in the workplace by way of workplace risk assessments, the development of policies and programs, and mandatory training for all staff.
