Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt hopeless? You felt as if, no matter what you did, you had no control over the situation and were a victim of circumstance?

 

We all feel this way from time to time, but today I want to share with you that you CAN be in the driver's seat. While you can't control the circumstances surrounding you, you CAN control how you react and, ultimately how the entire situation plays out.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night...

Ok, so it was actually a blustery and stormy Friday afternoon, but my throwback to Bulwer-Lytton got your attention, right?  ;)

 

Anyway, I was staring out the window and debating whether  we should drive up to the cottage that evening, or get up extra early and leave the next morning. We had to be at the ski hill for 9:20 am Saturday morning, so if we didn't go tonight, it would mean a REALLY  early start the next day. Oh, I so wanted to go up and sleep at the cottage (I love it there) and have a more relaxing morning, but the weather was so bad!

 

I repeatedly checked the weather reports and they weren't getting any better. In fact, they seemed to only get worse.

I'd click on the link to the weather report for our cottage region, and it said "Winter Storm Advisory". I thought about the situation: I would have our daughter (and dog I might add) in the car with me. The weather reports weren't  looking good. Would I be reckless with proceeding?...
