Angela's Happy Stamper
Greetings, friends!

Hope you all are enjoying a moment of rest and remembrance this Martin Luther King day.  We are open our regular hours today, 10 AM - 3 PM, so if you are out and about, stop in and say "hi".  We're glad to be open as we have lots of finishing touches to put on our Winter Open House, which is already this Saturday, January 21.  Please stop by and join in the fun on Saturday,  It's truly one of our favorite days of the year!  Fondly,
Angela

Last Call for the Winter Open House!

Memory Box Make-and-Take

There are so many reasons to attend the Open House this Saturday, January 21.  I've asked on our Facebook page what your favorite part of the day is.  Is it the fabulous make-and takes in the afternoon?  The 4 FREE demos in the morning?  The copious amounts of FREEBIES we give away?  The Community Outreach?  It's hard to narrow it down, but it is a day we look forward to twice each year.  We sincerely hope you can join us for any or all of the day!

We only have a couple of spots left for the make-and-takes the run from 2-4 PM.  We have shown you photos of 2 of the projects in previous emails.  The last two projects are the Memory Box card to "die for", pictured above, and the Birdhouse, featuring the new Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection of paper, pictured below.  If you'd like to join us for the make-and-takes, please register ASAP either online or by calling the shop.  You get all 4 projects for $20!  Wahoo!

Birdhouse Make-and-Take

In addition to the fabulous make-and-takes, we have 4 FREE demos taking place in the morning.  Stop in between 10:30 and 12:30 to learn more about the Letterpress from Lifestyle Crafts, how to create an image transfer, making your own Washi Tape and playing with sprays and stencils.  Fun!

This year, we're collecting supplies for the Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter in Fairfax.  Please visit our web site for a complete list of the supplies we need.  If you cannot join us for the Open House (boo hoo), and would still like to contribute, please drop off your donations prior to the event, if possible.

Don't forget the Stamp Swaps at 12:30 and 4 PM, the free gift you get just for stopping by (which is loaded with great stamping "stuff" and is my favorite gift we've put together so far) and the wonderful smell of chocolate that will greet you as you step inside the door.  Is that enough temptation for you????

Fred "the Fishboy" Mullett Returns!

Fishboy Returns
If you missed out on Fred's creative chaos the last time he was in town, DO NOT make that mistake again.  His classes are part mad-scientist, part-iron chef (or some strange combination thereof) and will leave you feeling like an artist extraordinaire!  Fred will be here on Saturday, April 28 with his Dancing Rubber Fish:  Advanced Embossing Techniques and Spritz Me, Baby: Diffused Watercolor Effects workshops, and on Sunday, April 29 with The Elegant Mess.  We're also planning a "mystery workshop" on Friday, so I'll let you know when I know what that is.  But definitely reserve the date!  Fred is doing some new techniques with new images and other new fun products.  A can't miss event!
More Class Fun!
I don't have details yet, but I just received an email from Nathalie Metivier of Magenta announcing that she is planning a teaching trip this spring down the East Coast.  Can't wait!  Her workshops will likely take place here sometime in late March or early April, so stay tuned for that!  Magenta is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.  That's kind of hard to believe, isn't it?

One of the questions we are asked most often is "Which inkpad should I use with such-and-such project?"  There are so many!  And they differ in more ways than just color!  We have a couple of great classes focused just on ink pads, and they are both scheduled for the end of this month!

Intro to Inkpads
My Intro to Inkpads class covers everything from Versafine to Versamagic to Versamark (and more) and their various uses.  It's on Saturday, January 28.

Laura is offering her fantastic Intro to Distress Inks class on Sunday, January 22.  These dye ink pads are unlike any pad you've ever used.  Come find out what makes them so unique!

Intro to Distress Inks

Of course, we are fortunate to have a lot of different classes from a wide variety of talented instructors.  Check them out then plan to come and play with us!
