Poor Rory! Our UPS man has had to spend a lot of time in the rain lately bringing us boxes! We've had so many boxes arrive in the last few days that he had to pull out his cart to haul them all in! Earth Day Promotion!
This Friday, April 22, we will celebrate the 41st Annual Earth Day. Even little changes can make a big difference, so here's what we're proposing. Simply bring back our shopping bags, or bring a reusable bag of your own to put your merchandise in. We'll take 10% off your order, this Friday only! It's as easy as that! This offer is not valid on special orders, items on hold or class registrations. However, we will offer an additional 10% discount on the sale items in the back. So be sure to stop in Friday and BYOB (bring your own bag)! |

Technique Tag Tuesdays
Since the day we opened in August of 2003, we have been offering FREE demos from 12-2 every Tuesday. That's a whole lot of demos! We are grateful for those of you who are able to join us on Tuesdays, but we understand that, for some of you, Tuesdays at lunch are just impossible. Over the years, we have tried offering an encore performance on the weekend, but as our shop has grown and our class offerings have expanded, we've taken up all the space where weekend demos could be offered. However, we don't want you to miss all the fun! Jenn has created this wonderful organizer with most of the Technique Tag Tuesday projects since the beginning of the year. She has written out supplies and instructions on the back of most of these tags, and this display lives in the case near the register. We invite you to bring in your camera and your notebook and browse through the tags. You are sure to learn something new and different! And, if Tuesdays at noon are free for you, we invite you to stop into the shop and make a tag for yourself! It's a lot of fun! |

What's in all of those boxes?
It's been hard to prioritize which boxes to open first, but when the GLITTER box arrived, I ripped it open immediately. You know I've been excited about the new Glitter products from Elizabeth Craft Designs since returning from the trade show last month! Stop in and see the sparkly display - and touch the sample cards. This glitter is so microfine that it feels like you're touching velvet. And I promise you won't get any on your fingers. I actually promise this!
In addition to a nice selection of microfine glitters, we also received the corresponding Shimmer Sheetz! You can run these white core shimmer papers through the Cuttlebug and emboss them, then scruff off the embossed images to really define the design. And, check out their sticker collection - the stickers work beautifully with the glitter! Too much fun!
Of course, Laura has her own biases as to which boxes she wants to open, so she ripped open a box from Impression Obsession tonight. Inside, she found brand NEW cover a card backgrounds including bamboo, passport stamps, varieties of lace, floral, and more! Also, we restocked the Mega Mount as well as received a HUGE shipment of cling stamps for the summer.
But wait, there's more! This evening, we also unpacked stamps from Lockhart and The Artful Stamper, and tons of new magazines including Somerset Studio, Where Women Create, Australian Cardmaking and the popular Stamper's Sampler Catch Up issue. Save the Date!
 One of our most popular guest artists over the years was Karen Lockhart. She is the owner and designer of the wonderfully whimsical Lockhart Stamp Company, and she creates all of the incredible card samples on display in the shop! She is the queen of colored pencil techniques, and she'll be back this fall sharing her techniques with us. I don't have class specifics yet, but I do know she'll be offering a beginning and advanced class as well as a class on stylus work. Grab your calendars and block out these dates: Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1. We'll keep you posted as we know more!

Shop Closings
While you have your calendars out, be sure to mark down these dates as well. We will be CLOSED on Sunday, April 24 for Easter. We will also be CLOSED on Sunday, May 8 for Mother's Day. And, finally, we will be CLOSED on Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day. With the exception of those dates, we are open our standard hours the remainder of each holiday weekend. Enjoy your time with friends and family! |
