8 Great Grilling Tips
 1. For those slippery, hard-to-control pieces of food, use double prong skewers. These are great for shrimp, vegetables, fruit, pretty much anything that goes on the grill. Especially once you've basted them with Extravagonzo Oil.
2. Soak your bamboo skewers in water for about 20 to 30 minutes to keep them from charring or burning on the grill. Then, skewer the food and grill it right away while bamboo is still moist. 3. Use a spatula or tongs when flipping your food. Piercing the food with a fork allows precious juices to escape and causes the food to dry out. 4. Use clean serving utensils and plates to avoid contaminating your cooked food with raw meat juices. 5. Grill courses together based on cooking times. Foods that take longer to cook can be cooked together; same concept for foods that have a shorter cooking time. 6. Make lots of food so you have leftovers. Think tacos or sandwiches with leftover meat, or mix grilled vegetables with beans or corn for a delicious salad, get creative!
7. Flatten the middle of those burgers so that they cook faster and more evenly, and so that you don't get the too-round burger thing happening. 8. Cook cut veggies with the grill lid up so they keep their crunch and don't get all soggy. |

3 More Great Ideas
Grilled Corn
Corn on the cob is awesome with ANY of your Extravagonzo Oils drizzled on it like butter, then crack some pepper and sprinkle some sea salt - beautiful! Corn Prep. Peel back the husk and remove as much of the silk as you can. Then take a vegetable brush and brush off the rest of the silk. Keep the husk together by tying it with cord. Soak the husk and cord in water for a few minutes before placing the corn on the grill in order to minimize charring. Grilled Whole Chicken, flattened A faster way of cooking a whole chicken on the grill is to butterfly or "spatchcock" the chicken -- removing the backbone and sternum and flattening out the bird before grilling.
You can either flatten the chicken yourself, or have your butcher do it. If you want to attempt it, click here for instructions and a video on a Weber Grill fan site. Once your chicken is spatchcocked, prepare it in any of your favorite ways. Of course, our favorite ways include basting it with any of our Extravagonzo Oils.
Dipped Strawberries An "oh, so simple" seasonal idea: Dip your strawberries in the Blood Orange or Meyer Lemon oils - delightful! |
