Connections
Greetings!

Can your business be connected to world history and achieve business goals? I really think the answer is yes, by making connections between your business, your community, and how you talk to your customers. I share a personal story with you below that really changed my life, and then I share some business ideas. I would love to hear yours!

One of the points I make, because my story happens to involve women's history in Boston, is that your business could also plug into the global women's empowerment movement and have a very exciting impact. Really think about! This is big and important stuff, and your business could benefit.

Enjoy the information, be inspired, and be in touch!

As someone who has led dozens of tours in Boston, I agreed, but I later realized that I was not at all prepared for this particular audience nor for their emotional response to the stories I told....

True story.

Last February, I was having a "make-up lesson" at a wonderful cosmetics store in Salem, Massachusetts. The make-up artist (and store manager) naturally struck up a conversation by asking me what I did for a living.

I explained that I worked with businesses in historical communities to incorporate history into their branding and marketing, and I also revealed that I was putting together a program for National Women's History Month -- which takes place every month in March. "I am a business owner and historian," I continued.

"That's really interesting," she said "but I don't see how history could work here."

I immediately swung into action.... Read the article!
