| Greetings! |
A Follow-up Report: On June 15th we added the FlexMLS feature Listing Error Report, that allows MLS members to point out listing errors to the listing agent and broker. The feature is part of the Roanoke MLS's initiative to promote member-to-member collaboration for improving the quality of listing data. The emphasis is placed on having quality data, and achieving it in a non-punitive manner.
After more than 3 months, we are pleased to report a great success. With over 250 reports of listing errors, members are helping fellow members in correcting their listings. Furthermore, members have remained to the point in their reporting, while maintaining a courteous and respectful tone. A couple of examples are "Wrong middle school - that is in Franklin county. I think you want Bedford Middle." Another one simply said "not in the city of Salem". Both of these reports were a benefit to the listing agent and broker, and once the errors were corrected the entire membership reaped the benefit.
Today's Tech Tip: Watch the video on performing a Map Search.
Map Searches: "If they were not so intimidating I would use them", or "If they were not so powerful, I would avoid them". When contrasted with any other type of search, map searches can be the most intimidating - at least initially. This is probably due to the concept of "visually" designing a search. Yet, map searching is so powerful. -- Intimidation vs. Power -- If you are one who always waits until it comes out on video, today is your lucky day.
The video is only 6 min 48 sec long.
