Lean and Six Sigma for Innovation

By: Nathan T. Navarro, MBA, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

In the past, if an organization wanted to make a profit it would raise the price of the product or service provided. Today's marketplace is very competitive. Customers can choose from a variety of products and services from several similar competitors. Because customers have more products and services to choose from, the simple technique of raising prices is not effective for most organizations to survive in the marketplace. However, applying the Lean Six Sigma method to reduce company waste is a rapid and practical approach to increasing company profits and competitiveness. Lean and Six Sigma are separate disciplines that can deliver strong results when utilized together.

Lean Six Sigma Certificate Program

Everett Community College's Lean Six Sigma Certificate Program is designed to give graduates the tools to transform an organization into a leaner, more efficient business by reducing costly waste and defects. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt works under the guidance of a Black Belt to analyze and solve quality problems and participate in quality improvement projects.

The practical teaching approach equips you with skills and knowledge that can be applied immediately to the workplace. Flexible evening scheduling allows you to complete the program in as few as two to three quarters, or more gradually at your own pace.

The certificate is for those who want to:

  • Gain knowledge and skills to particpate in and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Prepare for the ASQ Green Belt Certification exam
  • Individuals who want to increase their value to their employer or their marketability

Companies interested in having this certificate customized for their needs should contact Ray Kubista.
