EvCC Awarded $3.5 Million for Aerospace
Everett Community College was recently awarded two grants totaling nearly $3.5 Million dollars to support aerospace and advanced manufacturing training programs. $3.3 million dollars was through a state-wide consortium called Air Washington. The consortium successfully collaborated to compete nation-wide for a Department of Labor grant that was awarded funding for Washington State. EvCC's funding will be used to expand training in composites, machinist, and EASA licensure.
The 26-member Air Washington consortium included Boeing and other aerospace companies, 11 community colleges, AJAC, Workforce Development Councils, Inland Northwest Aerospace Consortium, Aerospace Futures Alliance, and other partners. The consortium grant effort was led by Spokane Community College and supported by grant writers from EvCC's Center of Excellence in Aerospace and Advanced Materials Manufacturing. Read more... |
