CBS Early Show Highlights In-Demand Training in Aerospace
The U.S. employment skills gap: Following estimates of the latest unemployment numbers, CBS News Business and Economics Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis takes a look at the nationwide employment skills gap.
"With more than four seekers for every job opening it may seem like the odds are in favor of employers, but a number of American companies say while the pool of unemployed is growing, the specialized skills employers want are especially hard to find" said Rebecca Jarvis of the CBS Early Show.
"If you want a job this is definitely the place to be," said student, Sam Warby. He is referring to his Aviation Maintenance Technician program at Everett Community College. Warby graduates in August, and already has a job lined up at Boeing. Read more... |

EvCC's Corporate & Continuing Education Center awarded funding to support aerospace and manufacturing training
EvCC's Corporate and Continuing Education Center has received funding to deliver training for up to twenty-four individuals in the area of Basic and Intermediate Electronics and Troubleshooting. The training prepares participants for careers as Aviation Test Technicians, Functional Testers, and related positions.
The competitive grant, which pays for the tuition of qualified participants, was funded by the Governor's Aerospace 10% Dollars and administered in partnership with Workforce Development Council of Snohomish County. Read more... |
