High Demand Aerospace Job Training Grant
EvCC's Corporate & Continuing Education Center has been awarded funding to deliver technical training for high demand jobs in the aerospace and manufacturing industries.
The $68,000 federal grant awarded by the Workforce Development Council of Snohomish County pays for tuition, tools, and supplies for dislocated workers seeking training in the Center's Basic Electronics Troubleshooting program.
"The program was developed in close partnership with local aerospace companies and fills a critical, unmet industry need," explains Ray Kubista, the program's manager. "Students have been recruited and hired directly out of the classes to fill immediate needs in the aerospace industry."
In addition to the grant, the Corporate & Continuing Education Center is delivering the program as open-enrollment and as customized training for local employers. New courses begin in February, April and May. Companies and individuals interested in the training should contact Ray Kubista at rkubista@everettcc.edu. |
