The BMA's Go and Grow conference in New York will focus on how the ongoing melding of technology, creativity and media is impacting B2B marketing. "The interrelationship among all three has never been closer or more important than it is now," said Tom Stein, president-CEO of Stein + Partners Brand Activation and a national board member of the BMA. "Transformations: Now and Next" will be held at the New York Academy of Sciences Sep. 27.

Survival. It's our most basic instinct. In today's challenging economy, defined by rapid changes in marketing approaches, channel proliferation and growing pressures on ROI, the smartest B2B marketers are still figuring out how to move beyond survival and produce transformational results. On August 16th, several of these marketers and technologists shared their wisdom and experiences at the BMA's Go and Grow conference in Denver.

Mark your calendar. The BMA has confirmed the site and dates for its 2013 international conference. The event will take place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers May 29-31. The BMA welcomes B2B marketers and advertisers who may be keen on speaking at the three-day confab.

Cristol: Bringing the BMA new opportunities for growth

When Kellen Co. acquired association management company Landon-Farrey last October, the management of the BMA shifted to Kellen. (Patrick Farrey, group VP of Kellen Co., continues to oversee the management of the BMA.) Kellen, which has six global offices, provides event planning, consulting and communications, among other services. BMA Buzz spoke with Rick Cristol, president of Kellen, about what changes may be in store for the BMA.

BY THE NUMBERS

Aside from making phone calls, accessing content and information is the primary activity of smartphones users, according to a new study. "A Portrait of Today's Smartphone User" found that 93% of smartphone users regularly access content and information. What's more, 79% have taken action after seeing an ad, 31% have clicked through an ad and 30% have used a special offer or coupon. The study, which was conducted in March by Frank N. Magid Associates, is based on an online survey of 2,540 people, ages 8 to 64 years old.
