Shaking Up* Chicago IFT Suppliers' Night

Exhibitors and attendees at the 2010 Chicago Section IFT Suppliers' Night were treated to a new way to experience a variety of innovative food ingredients in a unique and exciting format.

Dawson Sales Company collaborated with chefs from Kor Food Innovation to bring the "Power Snack" presentation to the Chicago IFT Suppliers' Night.  Chef John Csukor and Sous-chef Jared Dalby worked their magic using a wide variety of food ingredients from eleven of the premium suppliers represented by Dawson Sales.  The chefs developed four special snack mix combinations to appeal to every palate - sweet, savory, healthy, indulgent - for those wanted to try the chefs' recommendations.  For the adventurous types, the chefs offered a wide variety of ingredients that could be custom blended for a unique, tasty snack.  Each guest selected the combination of ingredients that he or she wanted to try. Then the chefs blended together just the right amounts of those ingredients while talking about the ingredients and their attributes, *mixed them by shaking them together in a special snack bag and presented the custom snack to the delighted consumer.

The response to the Power Snack presentation was enthusiastic with many people stopping by to visit with the chefs and enjoy a Power Snack or two or three.
