Having just celebrated Father's Day, many of us at Source Point Training spent time reflecting on our fathers. When coaching, leading and facilitating others, we always recognize the impact our parents have on us. Here are some of the things that the Source Point Training team remembered about their father's and the legacy they have each left.

Ginny's Dad was a pretty quiet, gentle, man. It was mostly through his actions that he taught. The legacy he has left her is knowing the power of unconditional love and truly listening to people, to always treat everyone with respect.
Two phrases she remembers him saying a lot were "You can tell me anything" and "If you can picture what you want, you can make it happen". Anyone who has worked with Ginny has experienced this in the way that she serves others. Always listening for ways to contribute.
Lou's Dad taught her that freedom is everything! Never borrow money and that it is a gift and privilege to live in the USA. Always have courage in the face of the unknown. Having escaped Russia in the 40's, he was a very quiet man who was thrilled to have so many Lysenkos (family members) around him experiencing the freedom of the USA.
Kelly remembers her Dad saying to her "If it's not fun - why bother, either find the fun, or move on" and "Attitude is completely a choice, so why not choose a positive one!" He taught her the importance of working hard and playing hard and believed you can create anything as long as you know what you want.
Tommy's Dad reminded her of the importance of taking a stand - he would say "Take a stand for something, or you will fall for anything." and "Know who you are and what is important to you and be about that - it will never steer you 'wrong'." He challenged her to always keep her word - recognizing that it is the one thing she had control over.
My Dad was Irish and could be very passionate and rigorous with us. He was a banker
with a strong work ethic. I was always told to do my best, to think of others first and to be in service. He was well liked in our small town and he had a great connection to people and supporting them in achieving their goals. I am clear that the work that I do today has been impacted by what I experienced and learned from my Dad.
Perhaps it was because of the values and the way the world was when we grew up that through these messages from our Dads that we believe each person has the right to experience their uniqueness and to have fun while working hard and enjoying life.
