No matter how you say it - Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Season's Greetings or Happy Kwanzaa - we all find something to celebrate at this season of the year.
As I decorated the tree with my husband, Jim, yesterday, cherishing the memories evoked by the beloved Christmas ornaments made by hand or given by the grandkids, I was reminded of Christmases passed. My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I realized that what I want is what I have always wanted for each holiday season since I was a child. To experience the joy and magic of the holiday, to experience the love of family and friends and to feel a sense of peace - that all is well.
I believe that each of us, at this time of year, are looking for these same things in some way. We are called back to look at the times when we were growing up and learning from our parents or grandparents what it meant to celebrate the holidays. These traditions are carried down from one generation to the next. I find the joy in creating even new traditions that I hope my family will remember and share with their family in years to come. We get to experience the love of family, the gratitude of a friend who we have shared experiences with throughout the year.
I realize that there is always time to get stressed or to worry about the uncertainty, but just like the little girl, we always want to feel peace and a sense of well being. We can focus on the stress or we can look to the beauty of the season. We can realize it comes just once a year and choose to take time to pause and enjoy it. We can be grateful that we have had yet another year to experience and create the life we want. I realize that within each challenge that I face, there is always someone there to give me the love and support that is needed.
So, this holiday, on behalf of all of us at Source Point Training, our wish for you is to take the time to reflect on what you want and have always wanted - not just at this time of the year but for each day into the New Year. A sense of joy and excitement for each new day and to be able to create it the way that you want it to be. To appreciate the love of your friends and family and the sense of peace and well being that can come when you open your heart and trust yourself and others and realize you have all the resource you will ever need around you.
Happy Holiday and a VERY MERRY NEW YEAR to all of you!! |
