Culinary Tips of the Week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian Reeve, Home Cook
The versatility of grilled corn -- I love grilling
corn in the summer. You can eat it right
off the cob or remove the kernels and add them to soups, salsas or salads. Click here to see how to easily cut the
kernels off the cob. The sweet, smokey
corn flavor adds a great touch to lots of light summer dishes like my Salsa with Grilled Corn. Get my recipe in the farmers' market story located near the top of the e-newsletter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chef "Tee" Terrell Danley, Restaurant Owner/Consultant
Exotic greens recommendation -- Farmer Mike from Homestead Farm recently turned me on
to African Sawa Sawa and Water Leaf greens, and I loved
them! Both are in season now. They added a nice tart kick to my Sawa Sawa Melon
salad. Get my recipe in the farmers' market story located near the top of the e-newsletter. I'm not sure if you'll find both greens in
the grocery store, but definitely check out your local farmers' market. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chef Lauren Von Der Pool, Vegan/Raw Food Cuisine ExpertEarth Balance Natural Buttery Spread -- When I want butter
flavor, I use this product. It's rich
and creamy without cholesterol and gluten. You can use it in most recipes that call for butter. Earth Balance is available at most grocery
stores. Learn more about Von Der Pool's exotic vegan and raw food cuisine at vonderpoolgourmet.com.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you have a culinary question or tip to share? |
New Salt & Pepper HD Grilling Videos Coming Soon Barbecue ribs with homemade sauce are on the menu!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Home Cook Brian Reeve will show you how to make his grilled baby back ribs. This dish is Brian's all-time favorite pork recipe that will be featured in Salt & Pepper's upcoming e-cookbook. Standout ingredients -- love and beer! Brian says that these ribs would be nothing without Chef "Tee" Terrell Danley's suggestion to bake them first.
Chef Tee will elevate Brian's ribs by making a sweet, tangy, peach-infused barbecue sauce from the leftover rib juices.
