Forget the salt shaker -- Buy your salt in bulk, then transfer some to a small bowl. That's what we do in professional kitchens. It's much easier to control sodium levels that way instead of relying on the holes in a shaker. Just take a little salt out of the bowl with your fingertips, then sprinkle it on top of your food. This also cuts down on contamination, especially if you are seasoning chicken. Your salt hand stays clean while your other hand is free to work with the food.

Earth Day is April 22, 2010 -- In honor of this day which recognizes the importance of being kind to the environment, I will be sharing green tips for the next few weeks. The second one is below.
Recycling tip part 2 -- More leftover foods to pamper your body with are listed below.
White potato slices -- apply to your face to help reduce puffiness and swelling.
Salt -- Combine with a little coconut, almond or grape seed oil to form a natural-body scrub; apply the paste-like mixture to your body to remove dead skin cells; rinse.
Sugar -- Combine with a little honey and coconut, almond or grape seed oil to form a natural-body scrub; apply the paste-like mixture to your body to remove dead skin cells; rinse.
Fresh lemon juice -- use this to naturally lighten your hair.
