Salt & Pepper's 10 Favorite Recipes E-Cookbook Coming in 2010! Home Cook Brian Reeve and Chef "Tee" Terrell Danley will share their ten favorite recipes with colorful pictures and the stories behind each dish. Read excerpts below. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian's Favorite Appetizer Scallops Wrapped in Bacon This is a dish that I had to make. I saw it in books and ate it in restaurants, so I knew I could whip up something my family and friends would enjoy. I've tried many different versions but always come back to this simple and delicious recipe. It was one of the first dishes I made for saltandpepperchefs.com producer Drakeel Burns. Later, she told me that she didn't like seafood much but loved this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chef Tee's Favorite Breakfast Corned Beef Hash and Two Eggs Over Easy This dish is a killer! I love the corned beef hash that comes in a can. Not what you expect from a chef right? I (like most chefs) are walking contradictions. I make fancy meals for a living but am happiest eating the simple stuff. I add a few embellishments like fresh tomatoes, Hollandaise sauce and a little parsley, but the star is definitely the canned corned beef hash that's cooked to a crisp--the harder, the better. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Advertising in Salt & Pepper's 10 Favorite Recipes e-cookbook is available. Try parsnips-- This is a tasty winter vegetable that is often overlooked. Parsnips are similar to carrots (see pictures below) but are paler in color and tend to be a bit tougher, so cook them a little longer than carrots. I recommend cooking them in slightly salted milk to help preserve their white color.

Salt is a great natural household cleaner -- Use inexpensive table or regular sea salt and go green! Mix a little with hot water to clean dishes and remove soap scum from showers and bathtubs. Use it to deodorize drains and garbage disposals. Sprinkle some on dirty pots and pans to absorb the grease and oils, let sit for a few minutes and wipe clean. He was inspired to run and raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society last year after his friend was diagnosed with lymphoma. Brian had to drop out a week before the race due to a knee injury, so he is planning to run this year to fulfill his obligation to his sponsors and himself.
