Off to a great start!

We're off to a great start at the Wesley House this year! In the last grading period, 71% of our kids made the honor roll at school. Behaviors are improving as well - clearly, our structured, focused work on academics and personal development is working. A huge thanks to all of our volunteers who spend the one-on-one time with our kids that makes the difference.

We invite you to become a part of our work with inner-city children. Call us at 524-5494 to find out how your passion for helping others can best be used with our kids and seniors.

MTV Star, Book Author coming to Wesley House

Abram Boise, a cast member of MTV's The Real World/Road Rules Challenge, is also a children's book author - and he's coming to Wesley House on February 22. His visit will promote reading and expanding the vocabulary of our kids.

Tablescapes

Our ever-popular Tablescapes will again be at Cokesbury Center this year. Last year we had a record 31 decorated tables and over 70 items in our silent auction, so make your plans early to be with us. If you are interested in sponsoring and/or decorating a table, or purchasing tickets, contact Angelia at Wesley House.

New Ways to use our building

As a Community Center, we want to be open for others to use our building for the good of our community. We are excited to announce that we now have a Hip Hop Exercise class for adults on Monday evenings from 6 PM - 7 PM, at no cost. Great exercise, good fellowship, and a wonderful way to start you week. If interested, call us at 524-5494.

We also invite any group who like to use our facility for their meetings during the day hours (excluding summer, as we have a full day program for the kids during June and July) to do so free of charge. UMW groups/circles- and any other groups - you are very welcome to meet at our place! Give us a call at 524-5494 to discuss.

We need your help

When the kids are on spring break during the school year, they are with us all week, which means we feed them breakfast and lunch each day. The same is true for meals during our all-day summer program for the kids. And, we need lunches on Fridays for our senior program. So - if you or your group can help provide meals during the following times, please contact Sharon at 524-5494.

Friday senior lunches: beginning March 4
Breakfast during spring break for the kids: March 14-18
Lunches on Monday, Wednesday or Fridays for the kids during June and July
