January 2011
Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe that 2011 is here - weren't we just turning the corner to a new century? But here we are, ready to begin a new year. A time for new beginnings, resolutions, and bigger dreams.

The ten most popular resolutions for Americans includes one that relates to helping others and at least one that relates to enjoying life more. As you make resolutions for how to spend your time this year, how to improve your own life, and how to make 2011 more meaningful for yourself, consider how being involved with Wesley House can be a part of your life:

  • Pray for our work
  • Volunteer with our kids and/or seniors
  • Provide meals and snacks
  • Teach a child to read
  • Laugh with a child as you push them on a swing
  • Look in the eyes of a senior and tell her you care about the stories of her life
  • Be a part of changing the way inner-city kids grow up in Knoxville

Include Wesley House in your life in 2011. Pray. Volunteer. Give.

Have a blessed New Year!

 Christmas at Wesley House

Christmas girl with doll     Christmas - boy with toy

kids with santa

Wesley House was so very blessed by you this Christmas season! We were able to share the true meaning of Christmas with our kids - the Gospel message - as well as make sure all of our kids and seniors had gifts to open Christmas morning!

Santa visited Wesley House, along with his friends from First Farragut United Methodist Church, and had a great party for the kids.  And, Country Oaks Apartments hosted our kids (and Santa) and gifts were provided by SunTrust Bank.

We also especially thank Trinity United Methodist and Hillcrest Methodist churches for making sure every senior in our program received gifts for Christmas. And, to all of the individuals and groups who so generously gave to make this holiday special for the kids and seniors at Wesley House, thank you for your blessings.
