It Wasn't His Child

As inner-city children are welcomed at Wesley House every day, we are reminded how lucky each of us is to be a part of changing a child's life.  You can be a part of changing a child's life too.  Pray for them; volunteer with them; give a donation that will enable Wesley House to continue to focus on academic success in a Christian atmosphere.

Some would ask "Why?"  There is a wonderful song, It Wasn't His Child, that gives the best answer. It tells the story of Joseph raising Jesus even though it wasn't his child. He wasn't; Jesus was God's child, just as we all are. And that's why you are important in the lives of the kids at Wesley House.  Because we are all God's children. Take care of God's children in inner-city Knoxville.  They need you.

Click here to hear this song. It will bless you in a special way!

Contact us today and ask us how you can be a part of taking care of God's children.

How Can I Help?
There are so many ways you can be a part of our work- pray, read with a child, help with homework, provide snacks, provide items from the wish list - the possibilities are endless!

There are a few specific requests we have this month for your help:

Movie Tickets: We take our kids on an outing once a month; we'd like to take them to a movie, but that's a big event (and expense).  Any help with gift cards to movies or movie tickets will help our kids have a great experience one evening!
Breakfasts and Lunches: When the schools are out, our kids are with us all day - which means breakfast and lunch for about 50 kids. We are already looking ahead to Spring Break 2011.  If you can provide breakfast or lunch during the week of March 14-18,2011, please contact Sharon at 865-524-5494.
Student Blog
Thanks to a grant from the Clayton Family Foundation, Wesley House has a wonderful new computer lab! Our kids are able to keep up with school work on-line, practice their computer skills, have pen pals in other countries (through a program designed for safety and education of children participating) and write regularly on our student blog site.  We encourage you to visit it often and post words of encouragement to our kids.  Access the student blog here.
