Thank you!
So much of what we do at Wesley House is only possible because of the help of our community. In addition to the many volunteers who spend time each week with our kids (doing homework, working on academics, and teaching performing arts classes such as choir, guitar and dance), we have some loyal volunteers who help us "keep the place running". We want to publicly thank:
Pilot Flying J for the many donations of goods that are used with our after school program
Scripps Networks employees who recently spent two days painting and freshening up our place
Crystal Hartwig who makes sure our kids have a delicious (and beautiful) home made birthday cake each month
Thank you so very much for the behind the scenes help you give Wesley House! |
Prayer Shawls
During the school year, our WISE program (Wellness In Senior Education) program meets weekly. We pick up seniors from our neighborhood and bring them either to the Wesley House or a local church for a meal and fellowship. It gives us time to check on them, address any needs they may have, and stay connected with our neighbors. At last week's gathering, our senior ladies were blessed by the presentation of prayer shawls donated to them by the United Methodist Women's Assembly, which met in St. Louis in the spring of this year. These hand-made shawls were prayed over, offering blessings to those receiving them. What a wonderful way to wrap the love of others and Jesus around you - with a prayer shawl!
