Our Kids love the new Logo
Fridays are usually a day full of excitement here at the Wesley House Community Center - the weekend is just around the corner. Friday, March 26, was no exception. On that day, we unveiled our new logo to our most important partners, the kids in our program.
It was a party, complete with games, puzzles, coloring and a cake with the logo, all tied to learning about our new look. Executive Director Richard Gibson talked with the kids about the history and future of Wesley House, explaining how the dove, building blocks and colors all tie together for a theme.
The kids were sold, as evidenced by feedback such as "It's like heaven" and "The Wesley House is fun. It makes me feel happy."
We hope you love the new logo as much as the Wesley House kids do!

Volunteer Receives YES Award
Wesley House is proud to announce that one of our own volunteers has received the newly created Dorothy Ann Weber YES Award from the Knoxville Optimist Club. Zach Nyein was presented with the award on March 19.
The YES award was created to honor the memory of Optimist Club member and Wesley House supporter Dorothy Ann Weber and is given to those ready and willing to say "YES" when a need arises. Wesley House was proud to nominate Nyein, who we feel embodies Weber's giving spirit. Nyein has quickly become an active and important part of the Wesley House family and continues to lead the choir he set up after his introduction to Wesley House over six months ago. We are thankful for volunteers like Zach Nyein, who are able to rise to the occasion, keep their spirits high and brighten the day of those around them.

Listen Up!

"My favorite thing at the zoo was seeing the animal we adopted. It is a snow leopard and it's name was China!"
The kids at Wesley House spent the week of spring break studying animals and celebrated the end of the week by visiting the Knoxville Zoo. Our kids were able to adopt the snow leopard with funds they earned by selling their own handmade artwork. |
