Vision & Hearing Volunteer Sign-Up
October 8-12
We are currently in need of volunteers for the Vision and Hearing Screening at Lois Lenski. To volunteer, click on Mysignup to chaperone kids to and from the Vision and Hearing Screening Bus. Feel free to sign up for more than one time slot.
We need help for 5 days, Oct. 8-12. We will also need back up volunteers.
You will escort small groups of kids to and from their class rooms, to the Vision and Hearing bus at the front of the school. The Vision and Hearing specialists will give you a list of classrooms and kids, and will tell you how many kids they want you to bring each time. You will walk the groups to and from the bus outside.

 Lenski's Food Drive October 1-31
The Food Drive is off to a great start! To date your food donations have filled 10 boxes, and we anticipate filling at least another 5 by the end of this week. Keep those donations coming, as we hope to fill many more boxes by month's end! Just a reminder that we cannot accept glass jars or bottles, and please remember to check expiration dates. Thanks so much for your continued support!

HELLO LENSKI VOLUNTEERS! Let's pamper our teachers... It's time for the Fall Teacher Conference Luncheon. The date is Thursday, October 18th from 12:00-1:00. * Lenski's Office Deadline: End of school day on TUESDAY, OCT 16th. Download this form.
* Mail-in Deadline: Postmarked by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19.
* Walk-In Local Running Stores Deadline: 6 pm, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24.
* Online Deadline: 2 pm, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26th. Click here to register online.
* Race Day: 7am-9:30am, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28th. Registration Tent located on the front lawn of the Littleton Museum.
Be sure to double check that your registration forms are complete and signed. Incomplete forms will be returned.
Sign-up for the 5K or 10K races and write LENSKI on your registration form to give our school a chance to win $1,000!!! For every mile you run at The Stride, the running club will be handing out 1 shoe. 3 shoes for the 5K! 6 shoes for the 10K!

King Soopers Cards on sale Thursday, October 11th from 8:15-9:15 a.m. Lobby Sales and Q&A tomorrow morning for King Sooper Reloadables! Did you miss out on the most popular card carried by so many Lenski parents, teachers and friends? Don't worry! You can buy a King Soopers reloadable grocery card tomorrow in the lobby of Lois Lenski. Cards will be sold at face value ($2.50 or $25), and payment by cash or check is accepted.

Lenski Running Club - Back by Popular
Demand
Nearly 500 students joined Lenski's Running Club in 2011, improving fitness and earning prizes for every mile completed! Run with us again in 2012!
Sprint on over to the field during full-day Friday lunch recesses in September and October (9/7, 9/14, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12 & 10/26). Lenski Running Club membership is open to all Lenski students - no signup or experience necessary. Last year's members can add to their prize collection or start anew. All we require is a good attitude and an aptitude for fun!
Parent participation is welcomed, and volunteer positions are still available at My Sign Up.

Musical Performances
2nd & 4th Grades
November 8, 4th Grade
Parents of 4th graders, please join us on Thursday, November 8 as your children perform On the Colorado Trail. This event will take place in the Multipurpose Room from 6:30-7:00 p.m. (Student performers, please report to your classroom by 6:20). We look forward to showcasing our 4th grader's time and talents at this event!
November 16, 2nd Grade
The 2nd grade classes will be performing Colonial Days on Friday, November 16 from 2-2:30 p.m. This performance will be in the Multipurpose Room. All 2nd Grade parents are invited as their children recreate this historical time.

- Drop receipts off in the convenient collection box labeled Lois Lenski Elementary located in the Guest Services lobby (next to the parking garage) at the Streets of SouthGlenn.
- If you need to keep the receipt, take the receipt by Guest Services at The Streets of SouthGlenn where they will log the receipt for Lenski and return the receipt to you.
