Lenski's Vision and Hearing screening for each class is still ongoing through Friday, October 7. To choose a time to lead the children to the Screening Bus, please click on My Sign Up. There are still several spots that need to be filled, so please consider signing up for a morning or afternoon. |
Attend the General PTO Meeting and Help Your Child's Class WIN
October 6
Join us on October 6th at 7:00 pm at Lenski for the General PTO Meeting. Our guest speaker will be Dan Maas, Chief Information Officer for Littleton Public Schools. Dan will share the LPS vision for technology enhanced education and will answer questions about curriculum, funding, and the future vision for technology in LPS and at Lenski. Please join us for this special opportunity. Childcare will be available on-site. RSVP to Amy Walker Kurtz (see below) to reserve childcare space.
The class with the best parent attendance will win popsicles at recess!

Fall Teacher Conference Luncheon

It's time for the Fall Teacher Conference Luncheon. The date is Thursday October 13th during the regular lunch hour. This year's theme is "college football tailgating" with a potato and salad bar, drinks and dessert. If you didn't sign up to volunteer but would like to participate, click on this link to see a list of items needed, both store bought and homemade.
We are especially in need of volunteers to set-up, serve, and clean up! Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

The Stride 2011
Run the Littleton Stride with Lenski on Sunday, October 23rd! Register at Lenski and receive your t-shirt and bib the week BEFORE the race (registration is also available online [www.RunTheStride.com], by mail, and at local running stores).
The elementary school with the highest percent participation at the Stride wins $1,000. At Lenski, the class with the highest-level participation from each grade will receive an extra recess.

Congratulations to the 230 runners who joined the club on Tuesday, October 4th. Membership is open to all Lenski students! Meet your friends on the field during lunch recess every Tuesday and Thursday through October 20th for more exercise, fun and prizes. Parent participation is welcomed - and volunteer positions are still available at My SignUp.

Lenski Helps Broncos Tackle Hunger
This October, Lenski is partnering with the Broncos Tackle Hunger Team in an ambitious effort to feed hundreds of hungry families in metro Denver. Lenski students have the opportunity to serve our community by donating nonperishable food items. Parent volunteers are needed 2-3 times/week throughout October to prepare items for delivery. The Lenski Ladies' Luncheon is will be Thursday, November 17, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. We will gather at Venice Restaurant for a delicious lunch, an informative and entertaining speaker, a raffle featuring fabulous items and more. Look for invitations to arrive in your child's backpack later this month. |
