Green News from the Lenski Cafeteria
In a continuing effort to help Lenski's cafeteria be as eco-friendly as possible, kitchen manager Carol Vandeweghe announced that the lunchroom will be instituting a pilot program, "Trayless Tuesdays." Pizza is served on Tuesdays, and students will be encouraged to use the biodegradable paper 'boats' for lunch service. Polystyrene trays will still be available if needed. "This program has been successful at other schools, and we're looking forward to trying it at Lenski," Carol said. Students can also help reduce waste by not taking more than one paper boat at a time, and by using the recycling bins in and around the school. |
