Technology and Cocktails Invitation

Give from your heart today . . . and inspire a mind forever!

Join the PTO for an evening of Technology and Cocktails.  Lenski's computers are in immediate need of replacement as many are failing to operate or are unable to meet the classroom demand.  This fundraising party is in response to this critical need, to keep Lenski a top Colorado elementary school.  Hear first-hand from Dr. DeSpain and Lenski teachers about our technology needs.

Fundraising Opportunities

We need your help!  The Solicitation Team is doing it's best, but times are tough and donations to our events are down.  Lenski has two important fundraisers coming up. We rely on creative and collaborative auction items to ensure their financial success.  Everyone has something to offer!  Please give this careful consideration.

What we need most:

Talents - gardening, cooking, coaching, sewing, tutoring, organizing, shadowing a professional
Hotel Stays - (doesn't need to be the Ritz!)
Organized Outings - golf, tennis, happy hour, tea, progressive dinners, theatre
Our sincere thanks to those of you who have already donated!!!
Ladies' Luncheon - November 16th.  Deadline for donations:  November 5th.
Auction - February 25th.  Deadline for donations:  December 17th.

Questions?  Contact Jill Monds at 303-332-5557 or [email protected] or Jen Girard at 720-219-7752 or [email protected] to donate any items, or if you have a connection or resource that you would like us to contact for donations.

3A PASSES THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF THE LITTLETON PUBLIC SCHOOL COMMUNITY!

After 5  months and countless hours of volunteer work, the common  goal of Citizens for LPS becomes a reality!  Voters yesterday showed their support of Littleton Public Schools by passing a mill levy that will raise $12 million dollars annually for the operating budget of our great School District.

There is no way possible to track or account for the hundreds of hours put in by volunteers across the district.  The whole community came together to make sure that we maintain excellence in our schools for the children of today and the future.  A commitment to keeping our schools and communities strong.

Thanks goes out to every volunteer that helped with this monumental effort!  To the parents, the students, the LPS employees, the grandmas and grandpas, and the community members that came out to walk our school district with campaign materials - THANK YOU!  To the parents and teachers that made thousands of phone calls to educate voters on the importance of 3A - THANK YOU!  To the school coordinators that helped distribute materials and yard signs, attend community meetings, answer questions, host neighborhood parties and organize our volunteers - THANK YOU!  To our area coordinators, treasurer and phone bank coordinator that spent hours in planning meetings, keeping us current with the Secretary of State and motivating a group of hesitant phone callers - THANK YOU!

Lastly, to those that supported our efforts financially we thank you for making our mailing and literature efforts possible.

Although we have won 3A, LPS will continue to face difficulties as we experience ongoing cuts in the future.  Let us not take our efforts on 3A as a FINAL step, but rather, as a FIRST step to continue our involvement in helping face the challenges ahead.  Continue to volunteer at your schools, consider joining a LPS District committee, listen in on a School Board meeting and thank a teacher, staff member or administrator for their dedication to the education of our young people!

A Few Spots Left at Literacy Training on Thursday, 11/4

We still have a few spots left to fill for training on Thursday, 11/4/10, and we hope you can join us!   As a reminder, the Lenski PTO and Literacy Team have developed a training program to help parents reinforce good literacy skills with their children. These skills are used by Lenski's teachers, the Literacy Team, and parent volunteers.  Click here to see more details and the upcoming training dates.

Recognize a Star!

The names of many amazing Lenski volunteers were submitted in the 'Recognize a Star' appreciation box in October.  Congratulations to Jenna Sellers, whose name was drawn as October's 'Star' volunteer and she will receive a $5.00 Starbuck's gift card.  Teachers, students, staff and parents are all invited to write thank you notes to a Lenski volunteer!  For more details, click here.

They'd love to hear from students and families, especially during the holidays.  To find out more about how you and your student(s) can contribute or to see a complete list of items you can donate, click here

Bronco's Tackle Hunger Food Drive

 Touchdown!

Team Lenski executed phenomenally in this year's Broncos Tackle Hunger Food Drive.  Together, we collected 129 boxes to feed homeless and hungry families in our community.  And because we surpassed the 125-box mark, our students earned an extra recess (to occur later this week)!  Thanks to ALL students, parents, teachers & staff members who helped us succeed in tackling hunger again this year.  Please click here to see a complete list of all those who contributed.
